ArborVue 2007 integrates the many different technologies required to conduct urban tree inventories and manage urban tree resources:

GIS

Robust GIS technology is fully integrated into ArborVue 2007.  The Laurus Group is an ESRI Business Partner and Developer, and we have designed ArborVue 2007 to take full advantage of ESRI ArcGIS Technology.  ArborVue 2007 uses ArcGIS Engine Runtime to provide integrated mapping and GIS capabilities, or use your existing ArcGIS 9.2 license.

  • Symbolize data on any field in the database
  • Create map layouts with scalebar, north arrow, map legend, etc.
  • Export to ESRI shapefile, Adobe PDF, and many graphics file formats like TIF, JPG, BMP, etc.
  • Open commonly used GIS file formats like shapefile, geodatabase, rasters, etc.
  • Label map features
  • Full query capabilities

GPS/Field Data Collection

ArborVue uses ArcPad 7 for field data collection, along with a Windows CE-based field computer and the GPS receiver of your choice.

  • Complete pick-list driven data collection forms
  • Display and query map layers such as roads, aerial photography, parcels, etc.
  • Real-time location display
  • Real-time GPS correction with WAAS or beacon compatible GPS receiver

Database

ArborVue 2007 utilizes Microsoft SQL Server to provide powerful database capabilities.  Use the Express version of SQL Server that comes with ArborVue 2007 for up to 10 concurrent users.  If you need to scale up from there, SQL Server can support users up to the enterprise level.  We also offer database hosting on a dedicated server for those clients who do not want to maintain their database.

  • Filter Editor for rich search capability, and a Filter Manager to save commonly used searches
